The First Piece of Spring/Summer 2026

This crochet dress is the first piece created for my Spring/Summer 2026 collection. As the starting point of the season, it became a reference for everything that followed—setting the tone, palette, and pace of the work ahead.
The inspiration comes from cherry blossoms—not in an overly literal way, but in how they move through time. There’s a softness to them, a briefness, and a sense that you have to pay attention while they’re here. That idea guided both the color and the construction of the dress.
The top is sky blue, clean and open, like those early spring days that feel promising but not dramatic about it. From there, the skirt shifts into graduated shades of pink, moving gently from light to deeper tones. The color change isn’t abrupt—it unfolds, the way blossoms do when they open, fall, and inevitably make a mess on the ground (the pretty kind).
I chose crochet because it forces you to slow down. You can’t rush it, you can’t fake it, and you definitely can’t pretend it didn’t take time. Every stitch shows up. The result is a dress that feels light, textured, and very much alive when it’s worn.
As the first piece in the Spring/Summer 2026 collection, this dress says a lot about where I’m headed: thoughtful design, strong femininity, and pieces that don’t need to shout to be noticed. It’s romantic, but practical enough to exist in the real world. Soft, but not fragile.
One small issue: it doesn’t have a name yet.
I have my own ideas, but I’m curious what you see when you look at it. If you were naming this dress, what would you call it? Leave your suggestions in the comments—I’d love to hear them.
This is the first piece, the first step, the first bloom. More to come soon.
